Vet Records REQUIRED
Your pet MUST be up to date on the following to ensure they have a safe stay with us:
- Bordetella
- Rabies (we need the rabies certificate or documentation with the tag number printed)
- DHLPP (Distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza and parvovirus)
- Negative Fecal Float (yearly test for intestinal parasites or worms (within the last month for new puppies); not the same as a heartworm test)
Vaccinations can be uploaded to your account once registered OR you or your vet can email ([email protected]). You will not be able to enter vaccine dates for your dog because we have to review the vet records and enter manually.
In addition to the above precautions, your pet will need to be on a year round Heartworm preventative and a Flea/Tick preventative (such as Frontline or Advantix).
All vaccinations must have been given at least three (3) days prior to arrival. (Titers are acceptable, please contact us for further information.)
Illness and Medications
- If your dog is showing any signs of illness (coughing, vomiting, diarrhea), PLEASE do not bring them to daycare.
- Dog Daze Playcare, LLC is happy to provide medications based upon customer instruction (however, we do NOT give injections).
Other Policies and Procedures
- Please bring dogs on a flat 4 – 6 foot leash with a flat quick-release collar at the time of drop-off. Retractable leashes are not allowed. Harnesses, clothing and collars must be removed before entering the playroom.
- You may provide food for your pet or you can request to use our house option for $4 per meal.
- Keep belongings to a minimum. We have blankets and bowls and toys to provide. Do not bring anything you would miss if it was lost.
- Dog Daze Playcare, LLC may close at times of inclement weather, based on school closures as reported by the Columbia School District.
- Late Pickup Fee – $5 for every 5 minutes past closing (6 p.m. weekdays, 5 p.m. on Sat.). If you have not contacted us by closing time the dog will be checked into the boarding facility for the night. The dog can then be picked up during business hours the following day. Boarding charges will apply as well as an additional day of daycare if not picked up by 10AM.
- Payment is required at drop-off.
- Reservations are required and must be made over the phone or via email!
- When creating your account, please provide an emergency contact other than yourself or additional owners.
- Cancellations of any kind require 72 hours notice. Cancellations for daycare without at least 72 hours notice will be charged a full day fee. Cancellations for boarding without at least 72 hours notice will forfeit the boarding deposit ($50). During holidays and peak boarding times, this deposit is non-refundable.
- During peak periods for all dogs, and for every first-time boarding dog, there is a minimum 2-night stay requirement.
Evaluation Process (required for daycare ONLY)
- Each dog must undergo and pass an initial behavior assessment to determine enrollment eligibility. Dogs who are boarding will be evaluated on their second day. The first day is for them to learn the environment and get comfortable.
- All pets over a year must be spayed or neutered.
- Signed waivers, all application documents, and copies of vaccination records are required for enrollment and must be submitted before setting up the behavioral assessment.
- There is a non-refundable deposit for daycare evaluations.
- If your dog is absent from Dog Daze for an extended period of 1 year or more, it will be necessary to perform another evaluation.
- Dog Daze Playcare, LLC reserves the right to refuse enrollment of any dog determined in the evaluation to be aggressive, anti-social or overly anxious.
Emergencies
- If anything happens that keeps you from picking up your dog (such as a flight delay, traffic accident, etc.), don’t worry! We will always feed and put to bed any dog that doesn’t get picked up if we are unable to contact the owner. Try to warn us if you can, but if not, we won’t let your pooch go hungry!
- If anything unexpected happens to your dog during their stay, we will attempt to contact you before taking action unless the situation is life-threatening (in which case we hurry to the vet while attempting to contact you). In all other cases, injured or ill dogs will be taken to the vet for treatment at the owner’s expense.
